As a board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Shefferman volunteered to undergo a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations—a process that can take up to ten years—by his peers on the basis of his extensive knowledge and skills. Becoming board certified signifies Dr. Shefferman’s pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence in orthodontics.

Local Heroes Smile Program
This May, Dr. John Shefferman, of Shefferman Orthodontics, is giving away free orthodontic treatment (either braces or Invisalign) to one local hero! Dr. Shefferman, one of the top orthodontists in DC, and his team of experts have always sought to provide excellent care to their patients for over 25 years. Now they are looking to give back to those who go above and beyond to make a difference in their community.
All nominations must be submitted by filling out the form on our website no later than June 23rd, 2023. Our panel will read through all of the submissions and determine one special recipient that will receive free orthodontic treatment from Dr. Shefferman. The winner will be announced on June 30th at which time we will recognize our local hero and thank them for their efforts in making our community a better place!
